Santos!!!!
Just got back from the Santos Fat Tire Festival in Ocala this weekend. I think we logged about 50 miles from Friday to Saturday. We got rained out this morning, so we ended up packing up (in the rain) and left early. We got camp set up around lunchtime and had a few hours to ride the trails before dinner.
We met up with a few friends from the last Fat Tire Festival at Alafia and went to out to dinner at Latinos Y Mas restaurant in town. That night it got down to 42...even with a -5F rated sleeping bag I was still cold.
Saturday was the day of the "epic"ride. We had the choice of 28 miles or 50 miles, but either way you had to work for your lunch. The lunch stop was at the 14 mile mark. On the way back from lunch (which consisted of spaghetti and salad), I grabbed too much front brake and did an endo. In other words, I went flying over the handlebars, my quads were on my handlebars when I flipped, and I landed hard on my face and my legs went one way as my bike went the other. I thought I broke my leg after I landed. My quads were in excruciating pain. Here's proof:

After a few minutes, we continued on another 8-10 miles back to the campsite.
There were a few bike vendors with a selection of bikes to demo at the festival. I decided to demo a Specialized Stumpjumper S-Works and John demo'd a Giant Reign XO. We rode about 6 miles before returning the bikes. There was a Freeride competition at the Vortex area at 3pm. We caught a ride, since our legs were toast.
By the time we got back, dinner was already being served. We got in line and I ended up comparing wounds with a 5 year old (I won!).

That night was a little warmer, plus I wore 3 shirts and socks to bed. We got up to cloudy skies and thunder in the distance. Even with a breakfast line that took 30 minutes to get pancakes and sausage...the rain started right after we started eating.
Overall, we had a great time and will definitely do this again.

Another anniversary...
A year ago yesterday was when I went in for my 2nd surgery. I would have to say it was the start of the hardest month in my lifetime. It's hard not to forget being in ICU this time last year.
